What paperwork do I need to sell scrap metal to AGER?

You must have a valid photo ID and be at least 18 years old.

To sell complete air conditioning units installed by a contractor, you must provide one of the following:

A receipt of purchase

Proof of change-out from a certified installer
-
A signed letter from the installer

AGER currently writes checks only to businesses. Individuals must be able to receive payment under a business name.

Can I recycle appliances?

Yes. We accept all types of metal-containing appliances, including:

Water heaters

Dishwashers

Washing machines and dryers

Grills

Refrigerators and freezers (refrigerant must be evacuated)

Do I need to drain the fluids from my scrap before bringing it in?

Yes, all materials must be drained of fluids prior to drop-off.

Do you offer pickup services?

Not for scrap.

However, residents of Sumter, Schley, or Macon County may call to schedule bulk item pickups for furniture and appliances.

AGER does not pick up yard debris or construction materials placed on the roadside.

Do I need a title to sell a vehicle?

Title requirements are based on state law and depend on the age of the vehicle. Contact AGER for specific guidance.

Do you sell car parts?

No. All vehicles received are scrapped entirely, and parts are not resold.

Do you rent out residential carts for short-term use?

No. AGER does not rent residential carts.

We offer front-load dumpsters (long-term) and roll-off dumpsters (short or long-term).

Residential trash service must be set up through the city or county in which you reside.

Metal Theft Policy-
AGER does not accept scrap that we cannot confirm as legitimate, metal theft is a growing concern, at AGER we train our employees to:

Inspect materials carefully

Document all transactions, including picture id, thumbprint, and pictures of materials

Learning our customers

Cooperation with local law enforcement officials
If you suspect something you have has been stolen, please contact your local law enforcement officials first. Our company is not responsible to locate your material. We cannot cooperate with out a full police report.
